Welcome to Engineered Panel Designs (EPD)
Engineered Panel Designs (EPD) is a dealer of Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs). EPD provides SIP packages for residential, commercial and light industrial construction. In addition, EPD can provide and coordinate a range of services which include: General Contracting, Architectural and Design Services, Planning, Custom Home Packages, Room Addition Packages and SIP Shell Packages (which can include TJIs, Windows & Doors, Roof Systems and Insulated Foundation Systems).
EPD, headquartered in northeast Ohio, has been providing SIPs for residential, commercial and light industrial construction since 1998. The principals have over 70 years of experience in the building industry. Since its inception, EPD has provided SIPs for over 100 residential and commercial projects throughout Ohio and its surrounding areas. We are very proud of our history. We believe so strongly in SIPs and our mission that we offer to have our projects Energy Star rated. Please take a moment to see some of our Energy Star Rated homes.
EPD is a strong proponent of investing the greatest amount of your resources into the heart of your home -- an energy efficient structurally superior shell. The shell consists of the foundation, floor system, walls, roof, windows, doors and the HVAC system. The drapes, carpets, fixtures, appliances and cabinets can easily be changed -- but the shell will always be there protecting you. Making an investment with EPD and SIPs will provide you with an insulated shell that will protect you and your investment. You can cut corners to save now and pay later -- or you can build with EPD and SIPs and save over the life of your home.
Still confused re: What are SIPs? SIPs are comprised of a continuous core of rigid foam insulation (Expanded Polystyrene) which is laminated between two layers of structural board, usually Oriented Strand Board (OSB), forming a single solid panel. The result is a simple, fast, highly efficient structural system which provides superior thermal performance and greater strength than conventional stud construction.
Are you worried about skyrocketing energy costs? SIPs will provide you with an energy efficient shell generating an energy cost savings of as much as 30% - 50% a year. See a recent natural gas bill comparison and view the potential for savings. In addition to energy efficiency, another benefit of building with SIPs is shell strength. SIP homes have survived Hurricanes, Tornados, and Earthquakes. SIPs are also green friendly and have been approved for use in green building. To read more about the advantages of SIPs visit our What are SIPs page and read Why Build With SIPs?
We encourage you to tour a SIP home before making your final decision so please contact us to see one of our Current Projects.
For a quick reference on Frequently Asked Questions we recommend you check the Structural Insulated Panels Association web site.
